In an effort to address the concerns of international students regarding limited practice opportunities for Chinese after class and scarce chances to improve their Chinese, the School of International Development and Cooperation has launched a Language Exchange Corner. This initiative not only aims to enhance the Chinese language proficiency of international students and preparing them for the HSK examination upon graduation, but also helps Chinese students who participate in the language exchange corner to enhance their oral English skills.

为解决留学生在中文课后练习机会少以及中文应用场景匮乏的问题，国际发展合作学院开设了语言交流角。这一举措不仅旨在提高留学生的汉语水平，还为他们毕业时的汉语水平考试（HSK）做准备，同时也有助于参与语言交流角的中国学生提升英语口语水平。

The first half of the Language Exchange Corner mainly concentrates on the review and practice of the vocabulary that has been learned in Chinese courses. In the latter part, students will preview the vocabulary which is going to be covered in the next Chinese class. This will contribute to their better comprehension of the content that will be presented in the following class. Subsequently, the Chinese students of SIDC will participate intensively in these exchanges. They will offer explanations in English to the queries posed by international students and engage in Chinese practice with them. In this way, a synchronous elevation in the language proficiency of both parties is achieved, and a mutually beneficial practice result is reached.

语言交流角前半部分侧重于对中文课上学过的词汇进行复习和练习，后半部分学生们还会预习下节中文课要学习的词汇，这将有助于他们更好地理解下节课堂会讲的内容。接下来，国际发展合作学院的中国学生也会深度参与到这些交流中来。他们用英语对留学生提出的疑问进行讲解，并与留学生一同练习汉语，实现了双方语言水平的同步提升，达到了互利共赢的练习效果。

Professors of the Chinese course have also received positive feedback from students regarding their gains in the Language Exchange Corner, which has made the Chinese classes more efficient. SIDC highly values the language practice needs of our students, and this Language Exchange Corner has been established based on those needs.

留学生中文课的授课教师也收到了学生们在语言交流角收获颇丰的积极反馈，这使得中文课也变得更高效了。国际发展合作学院高度重视学生们语言锻炼的需求，而这个语言交流角正是基于这些需求设立的。

Through lively discussions and activities based on language exchange, students are able to break through the limitations of traditional class and explore the essence of language learning. Meanwhile, it also strengthens the connections between international students and local students, and vibrant cultural exchanges among various countries are flourishing here. With its unique teaching approach and student - centered design, the Language Exchange Corner has evidently become an effective vehicle for language education in SIDC, as well as a dynamic and highly interactive platform for cultural exchanges.
