Research Interests

The Impact of the Open Government Partnership(OGP) on Local Government Accountability and its Influence on the Localization of Global Initiatives such as the Sustainable Development Goal(SDGs).

Research Work

My research topic aims to investigate the impact of the OGP on local government accountability and how this influence the localization of global initiatives such as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The SDGs are a set of 17 goals adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 2015 to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure prosperity for all. The SDGs are a global agenda, but their implementation requires local action and engagement.

The research will explore the following questions:

• How OGP encourages local government accountability?

• What is the impact of OGP action plans on local governance?

• How does the OGP influence the localization of global initiatives such as the SDGs?

• What are the challenges and opportunities of localizing global initiatives?

The research will use a mixed-methods approach, including a literature review, case studies, and interviews with key stakeholders such as government officials, civil society organizations, and international organizations. The research will also analyze data from the OGP countries action plans and other relevant sources to assess the impact of the OGP on local government accountability and the localization of global initiatives. The findings of this research will contribute to the understanding of the role of the OGP in promoting local government accountability and the localization of global initiatives such as the SDGs. The research will also provide insights into the challenges and opportunities of localizing global initiatives and the ways in which the OGP and other global initiatives can support local governments in implementing the SDGs.
